I’ve come across many different characters whilst walking through Cardiff, but the one man I always see is Cliff Collings. He busks around Cardiff with his drum kit and a number of different drum sticks so that passerby’s can get involved.
I photographed him one night when a homeless man was playing with him. He told me how Cliff gives him a certain amount of his earnings when he busks to help him out.
I like to go for walks around Cardiff but I’ve never gone adventuring at night. Although it’s not that far, I thought I would wander around my accommodation to see what I could find. These images were a part of an earlier submission a few months back and I really liked them. It’s interesting how light can isolate an area and alter the atmosphere in an image.
I made these images during September once I had settled into my accommodation in Cardiff. I visited Bute Park with my flatmates and I was fascinated by the patterns that the light created on the grass and how it highlighted certain areas.
